Introduction to GadgetGuy bracket tree components

GadgetGuy bracket tree is designed for installation of Garmin GPS units, radar detectors, XM radios and other gadgets on large number of motorcycles. Components shown in this Catalog are intended for creating various bracket tree combinations.

There are three groups of components, which are mixed-and-matched, creating a bracket tree for installation of specific gadget(s):

Group 1

"Bracket Kits" (Page 2 - 9)

Each bracket kit includes a cross bar which accommodate installation of components from "Group 2".

Bracket kits II and III are universal and designed for installation installation on particular type of handlebars rather than specific motorcycle.

"Bracket Kit II" (Page 2) is designed for installation on motorcycles with tubular handlebars (usually found on naked motorcycles) and cast aluminum handlebars (usually found on sport touring motorcycles). It has several modifications for installation on specific motorcycle models.

"Bracket Kit III" (Page 3) is designed for installation on motorcycles with clip-on handlebars (usually found on super bikes). It has modification for installation on Honda GL1500.

Bracket kits IV, V, VI, VII and VIII are motorcycle model specific.

"Bracket Kits IV" (Page 4) is designed for installation on BMW R1150RT.

"Bracket Kits V" (Page 5) is designed for installation on BMW R1100RT.

"Bracket Kits VI" (Page 6) is designed for installation on Honda GL1800.

"Bracket Kits VII" (Page 7) is designed for installation on H-D UltraClassic ElectraGlide.

"Bracket Kits VIII" (Page 8) is designed for installation on BMW R1200GS.

"Bracket Kits IX" (Page 9 ) is designed for installation on BMW R1200RT.

Group 2

"Base Plate I", "Base Plate II", "Housing for 26xx/27xx/28xx", "Housing for x76c" (Page 10, 11, 12, 13)

Designed primarily for installation on cross bar of the bracket kits, they can also be installed directly on cross bars of enduro type motorcycles.

"Base Plate I" (Page 10) is designed to accommodate Garmin "Dashboard Mount" (Black elliptical locking mechanism) Garmin P# 010-10199-02. It can also be used for installation of radar detector.

"Base Plate II" (Page 11) is designed for installation of Garmin GPS and works with following Garmin mounts:
For SP III/SP III Deluxe: Garmin P# 010-10304-00
For SP 26xx series: Garmin P# 010-10495-00
For GPSMAP 176/276/296: Garmin P# 010-10257-00
For GPSMAP 60C/CS: Garmin P# 010-10455-00

"Housing for 26xx/27xx/28xx" (Page 12) is designed for installation of Garmin StreetPilot 26xx/27xx/28xx series.

"Housing for x76c" (Page 13) is designed for installation of Garmin GPSMAP x76c series.

Group 3

"Extension Joint Assembly"(Page 14)

"Extension Joint Assembly" (Page 14) is designed to provide additional adjustability in positioning of "Base Plate I", "Base Plate II" or "Housing for 26xx" over the cross bar of the bracket kits.
